Founding Priest of Holy Ascension Orthodox Mission
Fr Kyril graduated with a Bachelor of Theology in 2006 from the Sydney College of Divinity. In July 2006 he was tonsured a stavrophore monk and ordained to the priesthood by His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the R.ussian Orthodox Church Outside of R.ussia (at the time Archbishop of Sydney, Australia & New Zealand). Fr Kyril has been specifically involved in mission and outreach to the Australian society at large. With the blessing of his ruling hierarch, Metropolitan Hilarion (Ukase No. 6 3a, 4 June 2009), Fr Kyril along with Deacon Emil Mishriky were given the duty and responsibility to establish Holy Ascension Orthodox Christian Mission: A Canonical Orthodox Christian missionary community whose purpose it is to serve people of all backgrounds via various public, social and benevolent projects and conduct all liturgical services in modern English.
