Deacon Emil Mishriky, was originally of the Coptic church. He was received into Eastern Orthodoxy, and ordained to the diaconate by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion in 2008. He has been closely involved in serving with Priestmonk Kyril with regard to mission and outreach activities. He has been a co-founder of Holy Ascension Orthodox Christian Mission along with Fr Kyril in June of 2009. Deacon Fr Emil is married and has two children. As a married deacon in the Orthodox Church and as part of Holy Ascension Mission, which has the capacity for both married and monastic clergy, Fr Emil is in a special position to serve the needs of families and the youth in particular. Fr Emil graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology and has a background in retail sales. He also has been involved in various athletic activities in the community, particularly in the martial arts. He is currently interested in cultivating skills as a wood-craftsman especially in creating ecclesiastical furniture.
